Woman died after plastic surgery in Dubai

Another woman followed the tragic fate of Donda West, the mother of Kanye West who died after a major plastic surgery operation.

An Emirati woman died after undergoing plastic surgery in Dubai. She recently went into a coma first before she died. Health authorities in Dubai are now investigating the death and results of the investigation is set to come out very soon.

The woman had allegedly undergone a laser liposuction which costs about 90,000 dirhams at a private plastic surgery clinic. But the clinic didn’t have all the necessary facilities to conduct the operation, so the procedure was later done in a private hospital.

Plastic surgery is a growing industry in the United Arab Emirates and this is the first time that an actual case of plastic surgery death has been recorded. It can be observed that cosmetic surgery in UAE is gaining popularity considering the number of plastic surgery clinics advertising their products and services in newspapers and magazines.

The Dubai Department of Health and Medical Services released a statement that the women sustained brain damage after surgery. She then went into a coma and was taken by her family to Tawam Hospital where she died few days later.

The Department has already suspended the plastic surgeon and the anesthetist who performed the procedure. It has also already revoked their medical licenses.

A committee is assigned to investigate on the matter. The committee is composed of a neurosurgeon, two plastic surgeons and an anesthetic specialist. If malpractice is found to be the primary cause of the death then legal action will be carried out.
