Getting rid of wrinkles the fishy way

A new research has released interesting finding concerning a way to get rid of annoying facial wrinkles.

The researchers of the National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research (NIWA) studied the effects of fish waste on human skin cells and found that is was highly effective in getting rid of wrinkles. Fish waste also improves the skin cells in the body, making them look healthier than ever.

The research has been conducted for over a period of five years. The researchers used wastes from more than 150 different species of fish. They also used the skin, liver parts of the gut, the eyes, and the gills in the study to make sure they can get the accurate findings after the experiment. They also employ skin cells grown in test tubes to determine the effects of fish waste on the human skin.

Who would have thought that a major cosmetic surgery procedure such as a breast augmentation already has a minimally invasive counterpart --- the lunch-hour boob job.

The lunch-hour boob job achieves breast enlargement by injecting a supercharged fat mixture into the patient’s breast. The fat is taken from the women’s tummy, buttocks, or things using a minor liposuction procedure under local anesthetic.

This minimally invasive procedure is named Celution and is not yet available in the United States. The technique will first focus on breast reconstruction for women with breast cancer and have undergone mastectomy or lumpectomy.

Statistics show that nearly 14,000 males had breast reductions in 2006. This speaks a lot of how men are treating their man-boobs problem very seriously.

New procedure brings back smile

A new procedure called Temporalis Tendon Transfer is used to restore the ability to smile to patients with facial paralysis. This procedure is combined with intense physical therapy before and after surgery and could help similarly stricken patients right away. Through this procedure, surgeons detach, reroute, and reattach a muscle for chewing, thereby, allowing patients to bring back their smile.

Dr. Patrick Byrne, director of facial plastic and reconstructive surgery in the department of otolaryngology and head and neck surgery at The John Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, said that Temporalis Tendon Transfer is a very doable procedure and it is very applicable on a wide scale.

As expected, the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons issued a warning that making such treatments “off-the-shelf” could undermine the seriousness of the procedures.

However, Transform Cosmetic Surgery defends its stance, saying the prior to the sales, consumers received a consultation and were fully informed before undergoing any procedure.
