Spain leads Europe in cosmetic surgery spending
Spain is making headlines lately because of its rather impressive involvement in the cosmetic surgery industry.
Latest news about cosmetic surgery and the figures provided by the Spanish Plastic Surgery Association reveal that Spaniards are the biggest spenders on cosmetic surgery. Reports say that Spain spends over €800 million a year on cosmetic surgery procedures.
Cosmetic Surgery Answers has more.
According to the report, the average spend per person last year was €2,000, compared to less than £120 in the UK.
Breast enhancements are the most popular, and over 30,000 implants were sold last year in the Spanish market.
Around 20% of cosmetic surgery patients in Spain are men: they go for eyelid and abdominal surgery, and liposuction, which is also the second most popular operation with women.
The locals are not the only ones making this cosmetic surgery boom in Spain possible. There are also a huge number of tourists visiting from the UK, getting cosmetic surgery makeovers. The tourists are said to be attracted by good hospitals, good weather, and competitive prices.
