Through the years, study now, pay later or fly now, pay later schemes have proven to be an effective marketing tool for many businesses.

Apparently, some enterprising cosmetic surgery-related businesses in Australia are taking this _____ now, pay later ploy a bit too far.

According to The Age:

A new promotion encouraging people to get nip-and-tuck cosmetic surgery now and pay later has been slammed by plastic surgeons as a "new low".

Hundreds of homes have been mail-dropped a 16-page pamphlet promoting breast enlargements, nose jobs and liposuction, describing them as "generally simple day procedures".

The leaflet, delivered to homes in Melbourne, includes an advertisement for "fast flexible finance" from loans company Mediplan and tells prospective patients they can "look better today the affordable way".

The companies involved say their promotion is "helpful" but it has angered the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons by including its website in the pamphlet.

People should realize that pamphlets describing cosmetic surgery as just a bunch of “generally simple day procedures" should run to the nearest trash bin and chuck it in there. Chances are, anyone saying cosmetic surgery procedures such as liposuction or breast augmentation are “simple” knows zip about them, don’t you think?
