Lipo Dissolve sparks debate

Lipo Dissolve is a pretty new addition to liposuction family, but it is yet to prove its worth before it can really be implemented mainstream. As of the moment, plastic surgeons are still looking at the various aspects of the procedure in order to assess its safety and effectiveness.

The principle behind Lipo Dissolve is quite simple. If you are having problems with excess fat, then you can get rid of it without having to change your diet, exercise, or even undergo surgery. The procedure involves injecting a solution into fat tissues. The solution dissolves the cellular membrane of fat cells, thereby eliminating it safely from the body. By safely, it means that the fat cell contents are released into the bloodstream and later filtered out through the liver.

The best thing about this new procedure is that the patient need not go through surgery to achieve results. It is like having an incision-free liposuction. The down-time is generally almost negligible. And this is exactly what patients want a fat-removing procedure to be.

Supporters of the procedure also add that this is best for contouring small areas that are a little bit bulgier or a little bit fuller. Patients need not have to go through surgery if they only want a very small amount of fat to be removed.

However, Lipo Dissolve is not yet approved by the Federal Drug Administration. Some surgeons say that this anti-fat shot has to be tested first before this can go mainstream. Surgeons don't exactly know what it does, and how to control it. They said that it is not known how much fat is going to dissolve when injecting an amount into the fat tissues. It is not known either how the body reacts to the chemicals present in the solution.

FDA stands on its ideals that everything that is brought to the public must be proven safe and effective before it is accepted.
