Courtney Love denies plastic surgery claims
Just recently, bikini photos of rocker/actress Courtney Love were posted on the internet as she was taking a vacation in Hawaii. Many people were shocked at Love’s sudden weight loss. The new slim-line look just caught people off-guard. Something surgical must be behind the sudden change; not to mention the unsightly ripples on Love’s tummy. Media reports suggest that she had a gastric band surgery.
However, Love is firm on denying the rumors. The former Hole singer insisted that yoga and a macrobiotic diet helped her lose 44 pounds in four months. She claimed she didn’t have plastic surgery.
Courtney Love blasts reports in a new posting on her website MoonWashedRose.com, saying, “I couldn’t get that surgery even if I begged for it.” She also added that media queen Oprah Winfrey inspired her to lose weight the natural way.
It should be noted that gastric band surgery is a form of restrictive weight loss surgery designed for obesity patients with a body mass index of 40 or greater. The procedure can be done to people ages 18 to 55 and have a history of obesity for five years or more. It is uncertain if Courtney Love has this qualifications but it is quite possible that she underwent the procedure based on the unsightly ripples present on her tummy.
However, she and her representative were adamant in saying she didn’t have surgery. Love’s publicist fired back after the New York Post’s Page Six gossip column quoted a source as saying Love was telling people she got gastric band surgery. The representative says, “Not true. She says she never got surgery.”
