Kim Cattrall admits to using Botox
Sex and the City star Kim Cattrall is firm on her stand that people who get plastic surgery look like aliens. She is also determined not to have any cosmetic surgery done on her since she wants to age gracefully and to avoid looking like any plastic girl in town.
The 51-year-old ‘Mannequin’ actress admits that she has gotten Botox injections in order to look younger but adds that this is the extent of all the cosmetic enhancements she has had ever since. Cattrall is scared of getting plastic surgery because she is afraid that she might no longer look like herself after she comes out of a surgeon’s office.
Death of Kanye West’s mom exposes dark side of cosmetic surgery
Due to the proliferation of plastic surgery reality TV shows and the influx of non-invasive procedures, one would think that plastic surgery has become less dangerous than it used to be.
The era of lunchtime liposuction, Botox parties, and one-hour facelifts has paved the way for people to think that getting cosmetic surgery is just like getting one’s ear pieced.
However, the death of Kanye West’s mother, Donda West, has brought us back into the harsh truth. That plastic surgery is a major operation and if not done well, could be fatal. Kanye’s mom reportedly died during a cosmetic procedure this weekend.
Jane Seymour admits to having breast enlargement
British-born veteran actress Jane Seymour has been denying rumors that she has had plastic surgery until just recently.
Jane Seymour finally confessed that she had breast implants before she accepted the role in a comedy film Wedding Crashers. She was about to do a topless scene in the movie so it was fitting that breast implants would give her a better advantage.
The 56-year-old actress explained to People magazine that after breastfeeding her twins 11 years ago, she wanted to regain her curves for her hot scene with Owen Wilson in the comedy film.
In the movie, Jane Seymour played an older woman who tried to seduce the character played by actor Owen Wilson and revealed her not-so-huge breasts in the process.
Excess skin after massive weight loss surgery
We hear about their stories on a regular basis – famous men and women having successful weight-loss surgeries. We have Star Jones, Randy Jackson, and Sharon Osbourne to name a few. They look so happy and contented with the results of the weight loss surgery. However, behind those smiles lies something that most (if not all) weight loss surgery patients worry about. You got it! Excess skin, stretch beyond its capacity to snap back, hanging like a deflated balloon.
This is primarily the dilemma faced by those who undergo this type of surgery. When large amounts of fat is extracted from the body, the skin holding the fat tissues begin to sag and hang and this could look pretty ugly.
Nicole Kidman denies having plastic surgery
Undeniably, Nicole Kidman is one of the most photographed faces in Hollywood. Her famous porcelain skin is always in the spotlight whenever Nicole strikes a pose before a camera during a movie premiere or an awards night. And it cannot be helped that people will always have something to say about Nicole’s flawless skin that seems to be looking younger year after year.
Just recently, Nicole was spotted attending a film premiere at New York Film Festival. She was with her husband Keith Urban who looked as dashing as his wife. Many people noticed Nicole’s wrinkle-free skin and concluded that she
Lipo Dissolve sparks debate
Lipo Dissolve is a pretty new addition to liposuction family, but it is yet to prove its worth before it can really be implemented mainstream. As of the moment, plastic surgeons are still looking at the various aspects of the procedure in order to assess its safety and effectiveness.
The principle behind Lipo Dissolve is quite simple. If you are having problems with excess fat, then you can get rid of it without having to change your diet, exercise, or even undergo surgery. The procedure involves injecting a solution into fat tissues. The solution dissolves the cellular membrane of fat cells, thereby eliminating it safely from the body. By safely, it means that the fat cell contents are released into the bloodstream and later filtered out through the liver.
Mommy makeovers on the rise
A 'mommy makeover' is a cosmetic surgery package aimed at mothers who have just recently given birth. It usually consists of three plastic surgery procedures namely a breast lift, a tummy tuck, and liposuction. The procedures are done in order to removed excess skin and as well as reduce stretch marks caused by pregnancy.
Dr. David Spoker, a plastic surgeon from California, said that the physical trauma of pregnancy, childbirth, and breast-feeding can have effects that cause women to lose their figures.
“Twenty years ago women did not think they could do anything about the after-effects of pregnancy. Now they can,” Stoker said.
TV shows influence plastic surgery patients
A small study conducted by researchers at Yale University suggests that plastic surgery reality shows influence patients' decisions on going under the knife. Shows like Extreme Makeover, Dr. 90210 are taken into consideration when doing the study.
The researchers polled 42 first-time patients who sought a consultation at Yale's plastic surgery clinic about how frequent they watched such shows which have become quite famous since it first aired on TV. This is done in order to determine whether shows like these really affect decision-making done by patients concerning plastic surgery procedures.
Britney Spears got lip injections
Britney Spears celebrated her first outing with her two sons since losing custody of her children by sporting a new set of collagen lips.
The struggling Pop Princess was seen last Sunday with her two kids driving in the San Fernando Valley. Britney was sucking on a Starbucks latte while showing off freshly puffed lips that looks like a product of lip injections.
Photos of Britney’s unusually large lips were all over the internet. Most people then conclude that Britney has had collagen injections to enlarge her lips.
Based on the recent photos, Britney’s upper lip looks unnaturally large and is pointing upwards. Her lower lip, which were normally more subdued have gained volume and definition. While these are indication of lip injections, nobody is certain whether Britney used Juvederm, Restylane, or Collagen injections to augment her lips.
Plastic surgery not just for folks with low self-esteem
If you think that only people who have low-self esteem go under the knife, think again. A new study dares to break that misconception.
According to a study in the October issue of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery(a journal of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons), body satisfaction has no influence on whether or not a person is interested in most forms of plastic surgery. The study says that most people who want to undergo plastic surgery are actually those who have a normal level of body satisfaction. This ruins the preconceived notion that only those who have low self-esteem actually think of plastic surgery as an option to solve certain flaws of the body.
