Hollywood actor and now director Emilio Estevez is looking rather odd these days. He used to look great back in the old days when he was still acting. The son of legendary actor Martin Sheen and brother of Charlie Sheen used to be the “handsome hero” in his previous films.

At present, Emilio doesn’t look like his former self. The 45-year-old actor is now spending his time behind the camera as a director. One would think that it doesn’t matter much for Emilio to be overly conscious with his looks now that he is not in front of the lens. A picture book aimed at helping children deal with their parents’ plastic surgery operation is about to be released this April 28. The book is entitled My Beautiful Mommy and was written by Dr. Michael Salzhauer, a plastic surgeon based in Florida.

Dr. Salzhauer has written the book in order to help parents explain to their children what happens before the operation and what happens after it. Through the book, parents can easily handle making their children understand the changes that transpire after their cosmetic surgery operations.

The author said: "More than half the women who come in for procedures bring their children with them and most parents go into denial about the surgery with regard to their children."

In New South Wales, the opposition group wants cosmetic surgery banned for people under 18. This is in response to the increasing number of teenagers getting cosmetic surgery such as breast augmentation, rhinoplasty, and others.

The laws that will be introduced in July would include putting teens who want cosmetic surgery in a three-month cooling-off period which is aimed at cutting down unnecessary surgeries.

However, the NSW government has no plan to ban cosmetic surgery for minors. This is what the spokeswoman for NSW Health Minister Reba Meagher said. This triggered Jillian Skinner, opposition health spokeswoman to call for a total ban on cosmetic surgery for those under 18 years old. She said that young people who are struggling with body image issues must not be allowed to undergo cosmetic surgery.

"There are very specific labeling requirements including things such as brand name, drug content, the indications for a drug or device, dosing, adverse reactions, warnings and even data obtained from clinical studies," Daily added.
